It’s time for some beauty reviews! This time round, I’ve got Lancôme in the house!
Blanc Expert Cushion High Coverage SPF 50+/PA+++
Let’s start with some cushion talk! No doubt there are a lot of great cushions in the market and they just keep getting better! I’ve tried quite a lot of cushions, to be honest not all of them worked well on my skin. I was pretty keen to try out Lancôme because I have their foundation in my personal make up collection.

I’ll begin with the packaging; it comes in a standard cushion round shape and a beautiful luxurious silver top with a full size mirror and a blending sponge inside. Lancôme’s cushion comes in a total of 9 shades with SPF 50+/PA+++! Pretty sure you can find yourself a suitable one!
This cushion stands out from the ones that I already have mainly because of its design with a new technology. Most cushions are exposed directly when you open up its lid. Lancôme has put in extra effort with its design to hold formula tighter in place, allowing for more complex formulation and thus higher coverage.
It has a multi fiber structure that looks like a “mesh netting” above the formula. When you apply pressure onto it, the content in the cushion will be lifted onto the “mesh netting”. I felt that this is something new and interesting.
And I would like to think that the “mesh netting” prevents exposure of air coming into direct contact with the formula. Perhaps my cushion will have a longer lifespan since it gets less exposed to air.
Now what about it’s texture and how it fair on my skin?
I would not describe this as lightweight; it has a velvety texture and is slightly creamier than some other cushions that I’ve tried before. Considering it’s texture I naturally would expect a stronger coverage and indeed I must say it did a pretty good job in coverage. Whenever I use products that are not exactly lightweight, I face a problem with it caking up after an hour or two.
Honestly I was expecting that to happen, strangely it did not. Oh and I’m using the shade P-01.
UV Expert XL-Shield CC Cover SPF 50 PA++++
Moving on to the CC cover which claims to be the ultimate XL UV protection and can combat pigmentation caused by Blue Light! Blue Light is emitted by our electronic devices and penetrates more deeply than UV rays thereby causing hyperpigmentation. I have not used this product long enough to give that statement a verdict but I can definitely praise it for it’s ability to cover up my yellowish skin tone.
This product comes in 4 shades, Flawless Bright, Fresh Rosy, Natural Nude and Light Beige. I chose Fresh rosy as it is slightly pinkish and I think it will be great for correcting yellow skin tones.
The texture for this product is not exactly lightweight. When I have it out of the bottle, it seems rather creamy and so spreading might take a little patience. I did an experiment to see the difference it could make by applying it onto one hand and comparing both later on.
The good thing about this is, when I have it spread out evenly, the coverage is really good! And I could see a distinct difference comparing my original skin tone (yellowish) to the one that has UV Expert XL-Shield CC Cover on.
Apart from needing to spend a little more time blending, I felt that this is a product worth trying for it’s coverage and brightening. But I would suggest people with drier skin condition like myself to spray on some moisturizing mist after application. Because I personally felt that it aids with the other make up process and looks better when I put extra moisture on to it.
Cushion Blush Subtil
So well you’ve got my two cents worth of Lancôme newest products! Before I go, I would like to show you this really cute blush cushion by Lancôme in shade 021. I do not have much experience with blush cushion so I cannot give you guys any constructive comments.
Perhaps what I can say is, it is really different from usual powder blush. The colour looks really intense when I first pat it onto my cheeks. (Got a shock!)
But when I blend it out with the sponge, it became really light and I ended piling another two layers to achieve my desired tone! By the way, Cushion Blush Subtil comes in 7 shades with 2 Limited Edition ones.
